My passion is for our students to come on Sunday morning, feeling safe, so they can hear God’s Word while engaging with their friends.  My hope is that our students are investigating and living out God’s Truth.

Elementary Hours

1st-3rd grade classes are available for both services on Sunday mornings. 4th grade classes are available during 2nd service only. The Elementary area opens 15 minutes prior to scheduled events.

Visitors are welcome to check in at the Elementary desk located on the first floor. You and your child will receive security badges and be escorted to your child’s classroom.

Explorers at 9 a.m.

1st-3rd graders will experience:

  • participating in worship time in adult service

  • large group Bible teaching pertaining to how Jesus fulfills God's rescue plan

  • community with other students and their leaders

  • hands-on activities / games / prayer time

Explorers at 10:30 a.m.

1st-3rd graders will experience:

  • Bible stories taught about the character of God from the Jesus Storybook Bible

  • a trip to Transformation Station, where storytellers make the lesson come to life through live characters, puppets and videos in a lively theatre setting

  • hands-on activities / games / prayer time

4th graders will experience:

  • a chronological Christ-centered Bible lesson in large group that examines how the scripture gives testimony to Jesus

  • time for snack and game to reinforce the lesson

  • time to apply the truths of the lesson to daily life and for prayer

Membership Class

Each September a Children's Membership Class is offered for students 2nd grade and older whose parents are members of WECC. This is a four-week class that takes place during the 9:00 a.m. worship service. 

Purpose for this class:

  • for students who have trusted Christ as their Savior to be able to share their story with an elder (parents will be present too).

  • understand what it means to take part in the sacraments (baptism and communion).

  • gain a better understanding of being sinful and how to follow Jesus.

Service Opportunities

At this age children learn to serve Christ through hands-on opportunities to help others.  Therefore, we offer the following:

  • Collecting supplies for Siloam Clinic

  • Charis Food Delivery

  • Hope for Christmas

  • Backpacks for McKissack Middle School

How do I register to be on the Children’s Roster?

Go to the Elementary Desk and complete the Family Registration Form.

Can I sit in on any part of the Children’s Ministry?

Yes! We invite parents to observe in the classroom at any time. You must pick up a parent ID badge at the Elementary desk before joining your child’s class.
