At Siloam Family Health Center, affordable health care services are provided to people who have no insurance or who have difficulty accessing their benefits due to language or cultural barriers.  Patients come from all over Nashville and include young and old, male and female, all races, ethnicities, religions and those in various stages of need. They are the working poor, people between jobs, those coming out of jail or in rehabilitation programs, and those who cannot afford to pay high insurance deductibles.

Who Siloam Serves:

  • In 2009, the clinic conducted 19,329 patient encounters.
  • 100% of Siloam's patients are uninsured or functionally uninsured.
  • - The average income for a family of four is $23,662 - just above the poverty level
  • - 24% of patients are children - 80% of patients are foreign-born
  • In 2009, patients came from 90 different homelands and spoke 69 languages.

 

Volunteer opportunities

Regular volunteers must be 14-years of age or older, complete a volunteer application, and attend a New Volunteer Orientation  prior to volunteering. One-time groups/volunteers do not need to do so.

  • Make encouraging scripture cards for patients and adults
  • Prayer walk around the facility
  • Organize items from Siloam’s pharmacy
  • Healthcare professionals can serve as nurses, doctors, etc (2-4hr shifts)
