West End Community Church began in 1996 when the leadership at Christ Community Church and then Pastor to Singles, Carter Crenshaw felt God leading them to plant a church on the west side of Nashville. A core group of people began meeting and moved from a municipal court building to an old auto parts store as the group's size increased. Finally in 1997 this core group had grown to about 200 people and they launched out in search of rental space in west Nashville. After an extensive search, the Lord made provision for meeting space at W.A. Bass Middle School and West End Community Church was planted as a daughter of Christ Community Church.
Almost a year later, and now averaging about 500 in weekly attendance, West End Community Church was particularized as an official church in the Presbyterian Church in America on September 13, 1998.
In April of 2001 the congregation voted to purchase a tract of land along White Bridge Road. This 44 acre property had a modest building on it which became known as the Ministry Center. Although this facility was too small to accommodate Sunday morning services, it did provide a place for Sunday evening services and mid-week meetings.
In July of 2003 we broke ground on "phase I" of a new facility on the property and construction ensued. Then in January 2005, after meeting at Bass Middle School for almost seven years, we moved into our current facility. Future expansion plans include a "phase 2" educational building and a "phase 3" project that will provide dedicated space for worship services.
2008 was another landmark year as West End celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Many friends from the past joined with the current members in celebrating all that God has done through this church in 10 years of ministry.
