calendar of events for 2010:

  • March 26th-28th - EMBRACE's Annual Retreat
Thanks to all of the women who came to the retreat this past weekend.  We had a wonderful time learning about who God is as Father, Shepherd, Healer.  And then in light of who He is, who we are; daughter, sheep, healed.  A huge thank you, too, to Shannon Truss who shared with us her wisdom and insight to all of these truths.  It was an incredible time of growth, sharing and having FUN!!
  • March 31st - 7:00pm Freezer Meal Refill
The church freezer is stocked!  If you are a family in need of this ministry contact susanna.singleton@gmail.com or take any of the meals in the freezer labelled Renew. Thank you to all of the women who came out to help and to Margie Moore for allowing us to use her beautiful kitchen!
  • April 6th - 7:00pm Card Creations for FRC
Thank you to the women and children who helped create heartfelt Mother's Day and encouragement cards for the women at the Freedom Recovery Community.  We shared a wonderful evening of fellowship and creativity!

  • May 8th - 10:30-12:30 Freedom Recovery Community Mother's Day Celebration
Thank you to all of the women and children who joined us for this celebration!  We shared a beautiful spring day, snacks, card-making, flower planting, and fellowship with the women and families who live at the FRC.  This event was so successful thanks to the love, encouragement, and donations of food and time from West End's women and children.  Join us in June for the graduation of several of these women from their program at the Next Door Graduation Ceremony, hosted by WECC.

"I had so much fun at this event! Those kids were hilarious. I loved watching them be creative." ~Jesse Amend
  • May 21st 12:00pm-7:00pm and May 22nd 10:00am-3:00pm. Hope for Haiti Fundraiser
We had a great turn-out for the Haiti fundraiser and raised over $3200!  We had a vast assortment of items which included:  purses, hats, linens, doll clothes, backpacks, cards etc.  Our biggest seller was the tea towels which were very hip and looked a lot like something you'd see in Anthropologie.  If you missed the sale and would still like to support the cause, please feel free to call or email bethischjones@gmail.com to come by and see the items.
