Day 1 : Recognizing Rebellion

READING :

Psalm 2:1-3, Romans 3:10-18

DEVOTIONAL :

As we begin this journey, we're confronted with the reality of human rebellion against God. Psalm 2 paints a vivid picture of nations and rulers setting themselves against the Lord. This rebellion isn't just "out there" - it's in our own hearts too. Every time we choose our way over God's, we join this rebellion. Reflect on areas in your life where you might be resisting God's authority. Are there places where his commands feel burdensome?

APPLICATION :

Remember Jesus' words: "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30). Today, ask God to soften your heart and help you see his commands as life-giving rather than restrictive.

Day 2 : Remembering Who Reigns

READING :

Psalm 2:4-6, Revelation 19:11-16

DEVOTIONAL :

In the face of human rebellion, God's response is sovereign laughter. Not because our sin is funny, but because the idea that we could overthrow his rule is absurd. Today's readings remind us of God's ultimate authority and the reign of Christ. When the world seems chaotic and evil appears to be winning, remember that God is still on his throne. He has already declared his Son as King. How does this truth change your perspective on current events or personal struggles?

APPLICATION :

Take time to praise God for his unshakeable reign and find comfort in his sovereignty.

Day 3 : Resting in the Reigning King

READING :

Psalm 2:7-9, Matthew 28:16-20

DEVOTIONAL :

Jesus, the Son of God, has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. The nations are his inheritance. This includes us - people from every tribe and tongue who have been brought into his kingdom. Reflect on the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) in light of Psalm 2. How might God be calling you to participate in making disciples of all nations?

APPLICATION :

Consider the global nature of Christ's reign. How does it make you feel to be part of Jesus' inheritance? Pray for opportunities to share the good news of King Jesus with others.

Day 4 : Responding with Repentance

READING :

Psalm 2:10-12, Acts 3:17-20

DEVOTIONAL :

The proper response to the reign of Christ is repentance. To "kiss the Son" is to submit to his authority and embrace him as Lord. This isn't just a one-time decision, but a daily surrender. Remember that God's invitation to repentance is always an invitation to blessing. "Blessed are all who take refuge in him." Take time to confess any sins and recommit yourself to following Jesus.

APPLICATION :

Examine your heart today. Are there areas where you need to repent and re-submit to Christ's lordship?

Day 5 : Rejoicing in Radiant Love

READING :

Song of Solomon 5:10, Hebrews 1:1-4

DEVOTIONAL :

We end our week meditating on the beauty of Christ. He is "radiant and ruddy, distinguished among ten thousand." Jesus is both the glorious Son of God and the one who became "ruddy" with his own blood for our sake.

APPLICATION :

Spend time today in worship, focusing on the person of Jesus. Reflect on his divine radiance and sacrificial love. How does contemplating Christ's beauty change your affections? Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a greater love for Jesus and a deeper appreciation of his work on your behalf. Let this lead you into heartfelt praise and renewed commitment to follow him.
