Watch & See

Watch & See | Psalm 5
J Hager, Pastor of Care

Key Takeaways

  • Start the day by surrendering to God and offering him all areas of our life as "living sacrifices."

  • Recognize and resist spiritual desolation (movement away from God's will).

  • Freedom is not the absence of restrictions, it's the implementation of the right restrictions.

  • Remaining in the "larger story" of God's perspective will help us from living only in our own "smaller story."

  • Trust in God's protection and mercy.

This Week’s Liturgy & Playlist

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.

All: For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Psalm 40:4-5

Confession of Sin

Father, in our weakness we often distract ourselves from you instead of running to you. When we feel Your discipline or face sorrow, we doubt Your love. We grow weary with groaning but do not pray with hope. We fear rejection more than sin. Have mercy on us, Lord. Heal us. Forgive our despair and our distance. Remind us that you hear, you see, and you receive us in grace.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9
