Attendee Resources
We recommend the following resources to help continue the conversation:
-
These questions can help guide you in asking God to prepare your heart as you interact with these resources:
1. Am I ready to listen, learn, and be equipped?
Have I asked God to prepare my heart to be open to what he wants me to hear?
Am I willing to take what I learn and apply it to my life, my family, and my church?
Am I open to being challenged, corrected, or stretched by God’s truth?
2. Where have I allowed culture to shape my views more than Scripture?
Are there areas where I have become passive or indifferent to what the Bible teaches?
Have I unknowingly adopted worldly attitudes about gender, sexuality, or relationships?
Do I truly believe that God’s Word is the ultimate authority on sexuality?
Am I willing to surrender my personal opinions, cultural influences, or past experiences to align with Scripture?
3. How can I better disciple my family or those I influence?
Am I faithfully modeling biblical truth in my home, peer group, and community?
How can I create a space where people feel safe to ask questions?
Do I tend to lean toward legalism or compromise when discussing sexuality?
How can I be a voice of grace, truth, and hope to those who are searching?

Parent Resources
We want to equip parents to lean in when discipling their adolescent kids. Below are frequently asked questions to help families navigate these important topics.
-
It’s not always easy to determine when your child is ready for the mature but necessary biblical truths about God’s design for sexuality. To help you decide if your teen may be ready, consider these guidelines from our speaker, Robert Cunningham:
✅ Has your child reached puberty?
If so, their own body is telling them they are ready for this discussion.
The greater culture is already discipling them on sexuality and gender—the church must not be silent.
✅ Are they hearing about these topics elsewhere?
Do they encounter discussions about sexuality and identity at school, online, or in media?
Would you rather they learn about it through a biblical lens rather than from culture?
✅ Are they mature enough to engage in a candid discussion?
It is often best to be frank, honest, and direct, but not graphic or needlessly provocative.
Teens may feel a bit uncomfortable at times (especially sitting down with their parents!), but in a healthy and important way.
If you begin the conversation, it will likely open the door for deeper family discussions over time.
Remember, every child is different - this is part of God’s wonderful design, too!

We strongly recommend parents listen alongside their teens. Doing so allows you to:
✔ Process the content together – You’ll hear the same message and be equipped to have deeper discussions.
✔ Provide guidance – Your teen may have questions that need further biblical wisdom and parental insight.
✔ Model healthy discipleship – You can use this opportunity to shape their understanding of God’s design with love and grace.Note: Robert also preached at West End on this topic, but the message was less candid and appropriate for all ages. You can listen to that sermon here.
