Talk about it together

This week, we worship together as one church family. Kids and parents sit side by side to celebrate the greatest news in history: Jesus is alive!

In Ephesians 1, Paul tells believers that he is thankful for their faith in Jesus and their love for God’s people. He prays that they would know God better. He asks that the eyes of their hearts would be opened so they can understand the hope God has given them.

What is that hope? It is the power of God. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in everyone who believes. Jesus is not only alive, he is ruling. God raised him from the dead, seated him at his right hand, and placed all things under his authority. Jesus is head over everything, and he cares for his Church.

On Easter, we celebrate that Jesus defeated sin and death. Because he rose, we have hope. Because he reigns, we are never alone. The risen King is powerful, loving, and present with his people.

As your family worships today, remember: the power that raised Christ from the dead is the same power that gives us new life and hope forever.

Family discussion

  • What does Paul pray believers would understand?

  • What power raised Jesus from the dead?

  • How does knowing Jesus is alive change the way we live?

Family prayer

Lord, thank you for raising Jesus from the dead. Open the eyes of our hearts to know you better. Help us live in the hope and power of the risen Christ. Amen.
