We’re Making Room
Beginning Sun. Aug 30, our church will gather for worship at 8, 9:30, and 11:15 a.m. as we make room for more people to know, love, and follow Jesus.
Three worship services.
One church.
The Lord has faithfully grown his church at West End, bringing new faces, growing families, and giving us more opportunities to welcome people into our life together.
“This isn’t about us becoming a bigger church; it’s about us making room for our neighbors to join us a we seek to know, and love, and follow Jesus.”
-John Bourgeois, Lead Pastor

God has called his church to a mission bigger than ourselves: to help people know, love, and follow Jesus into a life of love to his glory.
These new worship times create more opportunities for people to come through our doors, encounter Christ, experience Christian community, and find a place to belong and grow.
This change is about more than a Sunday schedule. It is about joining in the work God is already doing and making room in our lives for the people he is bringing.

We considered several schedules and wanted to find a rhythm that would serve our whole church well, not simply fit another worship service into the day.
The new 8, 9:30, and 11:15 a.m. schedule creates enough time for three worship services while also making room for Kids Ministry, Sunday Morning Classes, serving, and the relationships that happen between services. It also gives us a Sunday rhythm we believe can serve West End well as we continue to grow.
We also recognize that changing familiar rhythms asks something of all of us. Following Jesus often calls us beyond our own comfort and convenience for the sake of others (Romans 15:1–3). A change in worship time may feel small, but it is one practical way we can make a sacrificial choice that creates space for someone else to encounter Christ and his church.

There isn't a "right" service to choose. All three worship services will share the same sermon and liturgy, so consider the Sunday rhythm that works best for you and your household. You may also want to think about when you attend a class or serve.
If you have flexibility, one of the most practical ways you can help us make room is by attending an earlier worship service. Guests, young families, and those visiting a church for the first time often gravitate toward later morning worship services. Choosing an time helps create space in our Worship Center, parking lots, Kids Ministry, and common areas for those seeking a church home.
Think of it as an act of hospitality. An open seat is an opportunity to welcome someone who may be walking through our doors for the first time.
Wherever you worship, we hope you'll make that service your community: learn names, welcome someone new, and continue building relationships with the people God has placed around you.

We love having children in worship and believe they are an important part of the gathered church. We also value age-specific teaching and relationships that help children grow in their understanding of God's Word.
With our new schedule, nursery and preschool will be available during all three worship services, Kindergarten during the 8 and 9:30 a.m. times, and kids ministry for Grades 1–6 will meet at 9:30 a.m. only.
This rhythm gives all children opportunities for both age-specific discipleship and worship alongside the larger church family.

No. In fact, one of the opportunities created by three worship services is greater flexibility in how you spend your Sunday morning.
For some, that may mean worshiping during one service and attending a class or serving during another. Others may serve on a rotating schedule or participate in a Sunday Morning Class during certain seasons.
The goal isn't to fill every hour of your Sunday morning. We want to help each person find a sustainable rhythm of worship, community, discipleship, and service as part of the life of the church.
However, if conflicts arise and you ever feel you have to choose, always prioritize Sunday worship.
