Day 5: 2025 Belfast

Intergenerational ministry

Another great start to our day! Matthew led our devotional about being ready to answer God’s call in our lives whenever it comes. We discussed how tempting it is to think God works on OUR timing, when in reality, he only works in HIS timing.

We shared an encouraging time of fellowship with Peter and Dave at our inner-city conference today and talked about the benefits of intergenerational ministry where churches members of all ages can be in community together and learn from and serve each other. There is great value in the wisdom and experience of those older than us, and elders can also gain knowledge from the younger generation.

After lunch and learning some fun new games with our friends, we toured City Hall and met with the Mayor of Belfast! We walked through the beautiful city center, which gave us a little taste of what we will explore on Friday! We also had another successful night of our Singer/Songwriter workshop. Colette and Charlie taught the kids to play chords and strum patterns on the guitar. It was inspiring to see the kids’ excitement as we gear up for the concert Friday night!

HOw we saw god at work today:

  • In seeing the way West Kirk and Grace & Hope incorporate their members through the inner-city conference

  • That through Christ, we can be confident in who he has created us to be

 prayer requests:

  • To build deeper relationships with the kids throughout the workshop

  • More time to get to know the Mayor and better understand the city
