Day 5: 2025 Ireland

Bringing a little Nashville to Dublin
Today was a looooong but incredible day! We traveled into the heart of Dublin to visit Ireland’s parliament. Senator Aubrey McCarthy, chairman of Tiglin’s board, graciously gave us a tour and even let us sit in on a session of the lower house! Seeing a Christian man advocating for the disadvantaged from within the Irish government was deeply encouraging.
Next, we joined members of Tiglin’s Aftercare Program for lunch at Dublin Christian Mission. It was a privilege to spend time with men and women who have made it through the first phases of Tiglin’s program and are now in the reintegration stage. Their stories of God’s grace and ongoing transformation are powerful reminders of his ability to renew and restore.
Later in the afternoon, we strolled through downtown Dublin, taking in the sights, until it was time to serve at The Lighthouse, Tiglin’s homeless outreach. Our team hosted Country Western Night, bringing a little Nashville flair to Dublin. Mikey Rogers served as our house musician, playing guitar and singing all evening. He was a true rock (or rather, country!) star! The room was full of joy, laughter, and music as we served meals and built relationships with those in need.
HOW WE’VE SEEN GOD AT WORK:
Senator Aubrey McCarty, a Christian leader, advocating for the disadvantaged and championing Tiglin’s work from within the Irish government
In the lives of the Aftercare residents, seeing firsthand God’s power to bring restoration and renewal
Through the privilege of serving those less fortunate at The Lighthouse and recognizing Christ’s love for “the least of these”
In our team’s unity and hard work, serving together with joy and purpose
prayer requests:
Physical and emotional strength for our team—many are feeling tired after a full week
Healing for those who are sick on our team
Continued fruit from today’s conversations and ministry efforts
The love of Christ to keep flowing through us as we finish our time in Ireland
