Day 3: 2026 Ireland

Sitting with Jesus

As our friends at Tiglin took time today to say goodbye to their friend and colleague, the team took the day to prepare our hearts for the rest of the week. In God’s timing, this gave us all an opportunity to sit and listen to Jesus.

The day began with worship and devotional time led by Frankie and J. As we sang, staff members from the Martello (our hotel) came in and out of the room, filling water carafes. The room where we gathered also serves as a bar and sits directly above the breakfast area. When we finished our time together, several of us talked about how the worship songs may have carried into the breakfast area below. For some of the people listening, it may have been the first time they were exposed to the gospel. We pray the words they heard will take root in their hearts.

We continued our day with a quick walk to the DART station to catch the train to Howth, a charming seaside town just north of Dublin. Howth has a central grassy lawn surrounded by small shops and restaurants overlooking a harbor full of sailboats.

We gathered on the lawn, and J led us through a time of spiritual direction. He asked each of us to sit in silence with Jesus, seeking His desire for us this week. It was a time to settle our souls and prepare our hearts for our time serving at Tiglin.

HOW WE’VE SEEN GOD AT WORK:

  • The arrival of Tommy’s suitcase at the hotel while we were in Howth

  • Extended one-on-one time with Jesus as we prepare to serve at Tiglin this week

  • The strengthening of relationships within our team

prayer requests:

  • Please pray that we can be salt and light to the staff at our hotel

  • For the Tiglin staff as they begin Celebrate Recovery training

  • The West End team as they head to the men’s and women’s centers to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus

  • The Celebrate Recovery team as they work with the Tiglin staff who are also grieving the loss of their friend and colleague as they begin this week’s training
