Dignity and purpose

We spent our final day together visiting Tiglin’s Rise at the Cove social enterprise café in Greystones. The manager, Gavin shared how Tiglin created the coffee shop as an employment opportunity for graduates of the rehab program. Those who exit addiction recovery often have gaps in their resumes, and it can be difficult to find suitable employment. The café provides job opportunities to help fill these gaps, and all profits from Rise at the Cove benefit Tiglin. Employees experience value and dignity while also helping the community better understand recovery.

Since opening five years ago, Rise has become one of the most popular coffee shops in Greystones and now serves hundreds of people each day. It was encouraging to see how Tiglin’s work continues beyond treatment by helping people take meaningful steps toward rebuilding their lives.

After visiting Rise, the team had lunch together with Tiglin co-founder Phil Thompson. He shared more about Tiglin’s overall mission and the heart behind their work, bringing a sweet conclusion to our week of service. After time together building relationships, hearing stories, worshiping, and serving alongside the Tiglin community, we are grateful for all God has allowed us to experience in Ireland.

• Our team as we prepare to travel home

• The relationships and seeds planted throughout this week would continue to bear fruit
