Ezekiel Gave Hope

LESSON DATE & SCRIPTURE: NOV. 30 | EZEKIEL 27

Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (runs through 11/25/25)

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Talk about it together

God gave Ezekiel a vision and led him through a valley of dry bones. The bones showed how Israel had rejected him and how serious the consequences of their sin were. Apart from God, they were spiritually dead.

Ezekiel encouraged the exiles to turn back to God in hope and faith. God showed him his power to make people alive again. He was offering his people life and the restoration of their future.

God offers the same thing to us. We too are like the dry bones, dead in our sin and separated from him. But this is not what God intended. He chose to be with his people through his Son, Jesus Christ, hundreds of years after Ezekiel’s time. Immanuel means “God with us.” Jesus is the one true source of life. He brings life to those who are spiritually dead. God saves us by grace and makes us alive with Christ.

Jesus will one day restore this world perfectly and make it our forever home with him. Everyone who repents of their sin and turns to God will be forgiven and made new.

Family discussion

  • What did God show Ezekiel in a vision?

  • How did God plan to fix what sin broke?

Family prayer

Lord, thank you for your perfect plan to bring your people home and give them new life. Thank you for choosing to be with us. Help me turn to you in hope and faith. Amen.
