Talk about it together

Jesus traveled from town to town teaching about God’s kingdom. One day he returned to his hometown of Nazareth and went to the synagogue on the Sabbath. There he read from the prophet Isaiah, who had written hundreds of years earlier about God’s promise to send a Savior. The Messiah would bring hope, healing, and good news to people who were hurting.

After reading the Scripture, Jesus told the people something amazing. He said he was the promised Messiah. At first, many were amazed because they had watched him grow up. But some began to question whether what he said was true. Jesus explained that his miracles were acts of grace and that God’s love is for all people.

Some people became angry and wanted to hurt him. But Jesus walked safely through the crowd. Nothing could stop God’s plan.

Jesus came to bring good news to everyone. He healed the sick, cared for the hurting, and gave hope to the hopeless. Most importantly, he came to save us from sin. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose again so we could be forgiven and know God. When we trust in Jesus, he forgives us, gives us his Spirit, and helps us follow him each day. Jesus is the Messiah who rescues his people and gives eternal life.
