Day 2: 2025 Belfast

Gratitude and BBQ

It has been amazing to see all the ways God has orchestrated this trip for our team! Although this journey began with delays, hiccups, and little sleep, we know he has gone before us and paved this path for us. After a lot of running through airports, we made it to Northern Ireland with all our luggage, and we are praising the Lord for that! With our bags in hand, we rented a car and nominated Bobby Freeman as the driver (over here you drive on the opposite side of the road AND the opposite side of the car). 😊  We thankfully made it to Union Theological College where we’ll be staying for the week and were in awe of its beauty!

After settling in at the college, we headed to Mark’s house (a friend of Peter Burke and Dave Clawson) where they hosted a BBQ dinner for us. Although BBQ over here means something different than it does back home, the food was incredible as well as the company! It was great to be able to spend time in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ while getting to know them and their families. After dinner, we went to West Kirk, Dave’s church, for a worship service where we were able to meet members of their church and community. It was a sweet time of praise and worshiping the Lord alongside our friends in Belfast for all his blessings!

We headed back to the college to settle in for the night and prepare for a full day tomorrow. We’re thankful to learn more about the history of the city as well as the church, and to pour into the community here.

HOw we saw god at work today:

  • In his provision and protection in our travels

  • In the ways this community has graciously opened their arms, homes, and churches for us

 prayer requests:

  • Continued traveling mercies

  • Energy and restoration during our time in Belfast

  • To deepen our relationships with Grace & Hope Church and West Kirk through relationship ministry
