Day 3: 2025 Belfast

Past and present
Our day began with Christy leading us in our devotional where we were reminded that God gives us new breath, new life, and new mercies each and every morning! We must remember to act upon the plans that God has placed in our hearts instead of sitting back hoping he will do all the work. It is a sweet time spending breakfast as a team when we can feed on God’s Word and encourage each other! Our friends picked us up for the first day of our inner-city conference with West Kirk and Grace & Hope churches. We learned about the troubles in Northern Ireland and the history of conflict between Catholics and Protestants. We also learned more about the country of Northern Ireland and heard stories of our friends’ faith journeys. This was truly an inspirational time!
After lunch, Peter and Dave led us on a walk through the city of Belfast where we visited the Peace Wall, a historic barrier built to separate Catholic and Protestant neighborhoods and curb violence in Northern Ireland. We saw many of the beautiful murals throughout Belfast that told stories of the rich history of this gorgeous city! We then headed back to West Kirk for a quick reset and jam session before going to Peter’s house to eat incredible food and connect more deeply with the community God has placed us in. We ended the night early and tried to get some rest before our full day tomorrow. We’re excited for our first evening of the Singer/Songwriter Workshop and can’t wait to see how God uses us all during that time!
HOw we saw god at work today:
In the ways the Lord handpicked each of our team members to come to Northern Ireland
In the stories this community shared with us about their faith
In how we see God’s light shining through our friends here
prayer requests:
UpRise, both the staff and leaders
Those starting college in the fall and staying strong in their faith
Family members we’ve left at home
Unity within the churches and team here in Belfast
