Day 3: 2025 Kenya

Gospel transformations!

The team got an early start this morning with breakfast with the ATL Board. As we were leaving for the day, Joseph and Craig Huseby led two of the hotel staff members in prayer and they received Christ in their hearts - it was so beautiful to see! Talk about an amazing start to our day!

We then headed for the Maasai community to host Day 1 of VBS, which was a HUGE success! We had around 75 kids come, and they had a blast learning about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Today’s lessons were “Feeding of the 5,000” and “Healing the Canaanite Woman’s Daughter.” The kids heard Bible stories, learned memory verses, completed crafts with magic paper, and made salvation bracelets. The kids played soccer, “Duck, Duck, Goose,” jump rope, frisbee, and raced. We’re so excited to go back for Day 2 tomorrow and see the sweet kids enjoy another day of learning about Jesus!

In the afternoon, we visited the girls’ school, which was just as amazing. Dr. Josephine from ATL spoke to the girls in a large group session about self-esteem and how they view themselves. Bethlehem Crowder, Gavin Pease, and Lily Huseby helped Dr. Josephine by asking the girls questions and speaking on Psalm 139, reinforcing that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. At the end of our time at the girls’ school, three girls accepted Christ and were saved! We are praising the Lord for all he is doing here in Kenya!

We ended the night with dinner, team time, and talking through preparations for tomorrow. We are so pumped to keep spreading God’s love and seeing the sweet faces of all those we meet and interact with while here! Keep those prayers coming - we can absolutely feel them!

HOw we saw god at work today:

  • Seeing how invested the kids are in learning more about God

  • Hearing the kids sing praise songs with joy

  • Being able to flex to fit in both lessons when our time with the kids at VBS was reduced

  • The beauty of seeing five amazing ladies receive Christ as their Savior

 prayer requests:

  • Strength, stamina, and encouragement for our team

  • Obedience to the Holy Spirit during our time here

  • For our families, both here serving and back home
