Day 6: 2025 Kenya

Living Water

Today was such an emotional and life-giving day! We had our last breakfast with the ATL team and prayed over our final day at VBS. As we loaded up to head to the Maasai village, all but one of our bags were delivered to our hotel! We were absolutely praising the Lord for thng in the lives of these sweet friends we’ve made. They were kind and gracious and gave us colorful jewelry of theirs so we could always remember them. It was emotional leaving the village because of all the connections we’ve made with the leaders, members, and children. The bus ride out was filled with tears of joy and sadness - joy for the Lord working in all our lives and sadness for leaving behind a piece of our hearts with the Maasai community.

Next, we travelled to an ATL-dug well in a community that had been thirsting for so long! Robert cut the ribbon, started the water flowing, and the animals and people enjoyed fresh water! After hearing more about their community and meeting many people, they generously showered us with gifts and love! We ate lunch prepared by the community, enjoyed fellowship, and learned more about their lives. Afterwards, we said goodbye to our new friends and started the journey back to Nairobi.

We finished the night with dinner and team time, talking through the long day of travel ahead tomorrow to see God’s creation at the safari. We have had long days and little sleep, but we can feel God’s nourishment and strength through your prayers! We miss our friends and family back home, but know we are where God wants and needs us right now.is delivery.

We arrived at the Maasai village to a sweet surprise - the kids were there for the certificate ceremony! To see their sweet faces one more time was a pure blessing and joy for our team. Seeing the excitement on the faces of the community when they received their certificate of completion was encouraging. This community is on fire for the Lord, and you can feel God working in the lives of these sweet friends we’ve made. HOw we saw god at work today:

  • The generosity of the people we have encountered on this journey

  • The excitement of the Maasai men and women who received Bibles

  • The way this amazing community works without complaining; they have so little yet provide us with tea and lunch each day with joy in their hearts

  • How much love the kids have for us after only three days

  • Seeing the water flowing from the well knowing how many lives will be touched and blessed by it and the Living Water in Christ!

  • God’s presence in worship at the Maasai village, as his people seek him with all the strength in their souls

 prayer requests:

  • For a good night’s sleep, restoration, strength, and health

  • Planted seeds to be watered and grow among all those we’ve interacted with

  • For hearts that have been separated from the bonds we’ve made with the Maasai children

  • For travel mercies as we head to the safari
